Love brought us together at just the right moment, leading us beyond our own borders to write a new chapter in Jaco. We’re deeply grateful to share this beautiful union with our families from Mexico and Canada and the new family we’ve found in our Costa Rican home.
Questions you might have
Before you Travel

Costa Rica accepts USD (United States Dollar) and CRC (Costa Rican Colón). The general exchange rate is 500 CRC to 1 USD, though this rate fluctuates daily for both buying and selling dollars. If you’re traveling from abroad, we recommend getting USD before your trip. When paying with USD in Costa Rica, you’ll typically receive change in CRC. For the best exchange rate in town, visit the supermarket Mas x Menos—being Walmart-owned, they offer the exact official rate. Other shops might offer 500 CRC per dollar when the actual rate could be 520-540 CRC. You can do a quick Google search to get today’s exchange rate.
We’re thrilled to celebrate our beach wedding with you! With temperatures around 28-30 Celsius, we want everyone to feel comfortable while looking fabulous. Please choose a beach-appropriate and stylish outfit – you don’t need to stress about formal wear in the heat. We suggest fresh clothing! And don’t worry, for those who cannot handle the heat, the inside will have the A/C flowing.
Our venue is on the beach and has a pool, so… You might want to consider it to jump in and cool off!
Get ready for a fantastic evening, starting with our delightful cocktail hour from 5:00 to 6:00 pm! We’re kicking things off with appetizers to welcome you. Then, we’ve lovingly created food stations that bring you the best of both worlds; our favorites, Tacos & Burger Sliders!
Our friendly bartenders will be there to keep your glasses full and spirits high! (And hey, if you want to bring your favorite bottles along, we’d love that too!)
The bride and groom will be busy, but our phones will be nearby. Here is a list of people who will be able to help:
- Groom: +506 8707-0044
- Bride: +506 6463-3027
- Rafael: +506 6142-4583
- Francine (Spanish): +506 8340-9954
- Barry (English): +1 (832) 687-8769
Also, for those who already don’t, we recommend downloading the app “WhatsApp” as it is a primary form of contact in Costa Rica, and you can call and text for free as long as you are on wifi or have cell service. All the numbers listed above are on WhatsApp.
Welcome to beautiful Jaco! We’re thrilled to tell you about our charming beach town, packed with excellent accommodation options for every taste and budget.
Here are some recommendations: Crocs Hotel & Casino, Hotel Amavi, Amapola Hotel, Beach Break Jaco, Club del Mar, Hotel Tangeri, Hotel Ibiza, Hotel Jaco, Balcón del Mar, Birds of Paradise, & DoceLunas.
If you’re considering booking an Airbnb, give us a quick heads-up – we’d love to help ensure you find the perfect spot right in town rather than up in the mountains or neighboring areas.
Well, remember one of our businesses here in Costa Rica is BookyBee – Bookings Made Easy, and well our focus is tours, activities, services, and transportation, so an excellent place to check would be our website, www.bookybee.com if you are looking to enjoy yourselves beyond our wedding, you can get some great ideas there, remember we own this business. We can give you our business price on these activities, so only book something by letting us know first!
We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome you to our special celebration at our cozy beachfront venue on beautiful Jaco Beach! While space might be a bit snug, that’s precisely how we want it – surrounded by our closest family and dearest friends. Do you know what’s fantastic about intimate weddings? As a wedding photographer, I’ve fallen in love with these smaller gatherings – they’re like magical get-togethers with our favorite people (yes, that’s you!) come together, even if it means some of you hopping on a plane to join us!
Great news! The beautiful beach town of Jaco is just a 90-minute drive southwest of the airport, and you’ve got several convenient ways to get there. For a comfortable door-to-door experience, friendly taxi drivers and private shuttles are available for about $100-$120 (USD) for groups of up to 5 people. Remember, we own and operate BookyBee. We manage transportation daily and can set this up for you.
Want to save some money and have a local adventure? Try the budget-friendly bus option for just $10 (USD)! Here’s a helpful tip: catch a taxi from the airport to “El Puente de Villa Bonita”—that’s where you’ll find your bus to Jaco (look for the white bus with orange/brown markings that say “Jaco” on it).
Local taxis are red with a yellow triangle and typically will be within $5 (USD) around town. You can get ahold of them by dialing +506 2643-2020 or +506 2643-2121. You must tell them your location (name of the hotel you are staying at), and then your destination is “Casa Playa del Rey, on Calle Hidalgo.” Uber is also available here but not too common. A few friends of ours that are taxis we recommend trying first are:
- Fernando (1-7ppl): +506 8321-6488
- Adriana (1-4ppl): +506 8487-1356
Hey international travelers! We’re excited to welcome you to Costa Rica! Just make sure you book your flight to Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José – this is your friendly reminder to double-check those travel details!
We’re thrilled to invite you to join us for our dreamy beach ceremony at sunset (4:15 pm). As fellow photographers, we’ll be capturing magical moments with our photographer while the sun paints the Pacific with its golden light. Starting with our delightful cocktail hour from 5:00 to 6:00 pm! Then get ready to dance the night away at our fun-filled reception starting at 6:00 pm! If you’re joining us for the evening festivities, we’d love to see you at 6:00 pm sharp. And for those who’d like to witness our special ceremony, we warmly welcome you to arrive around 3:45 pm.
